What is shelter medicine?

Shelter medicine is the field of veterinary medicine focused on the health and welfare of homeless and underserved animals in shelters and the community.

What topics do you teach?

Dr. Dalrymple is available to teach on a broad range of shelter medicine topics including shelter animal physical health, shelter animal behavior and welfare, staff well-being, communication, and the role of the veterinarian within shelter systems.

Targeted consultations focus on one area of shelter operations, while a comprehensive consultation evaluates the entire scope of the organization.
